Campus Conference to Defend Higher Education
Overview
Please join us for an important organizing conference taking place on our campus on Saturday, February 22nd from 9-6pm.
This conference is to bring together faculty, staff, and students across the CSU (and some UC representation too) to organize to strengthen and unite our movements against austerity, cuts, closures, repression, and corporate profiteering, and to defend public education and our communities.
Right now, our public education system is being undercut, targeted, and sold out by a variety of different forces. It is critical that we educate ourselves on the reality of these changes and take proactive steps to defend what we can at this critical conjuncture. The conference will help us strengthen our solidarity and plan for a subsequent series of actions and a caravan to Sacramento to lobby against the 7.9% state budget cuts before their final approval by Governor Newsom. This is a critical time to seize on our collective power and we need the participation of everyone who has the capacity.
Please see the flyer below and register to attend before Feb 18 (this will allow us to order breakfast and lunch with enough time).
The link that the QR code brings you to is here and includes registration, a rough schedule, a draft framework up for discussion at the conference, and current endorsements. It is being updated as details unfold.
